Composer Greg Miles Patmore began his musical life in the brass band tradition of North West England, playing, conducting and composing for brass before going to Goldsmith’s College, University of London to study composition with Edward Gregson, Stanley Glasser and Melanie Daiken.
He is an accomplished Tenor Horn player and has played for a number of top section bands including BNFL Leyland, one of UK’s finest, in the mid 1990’s. He has also conducted several North West brass bands including Ormskirk Town, Skelmersdale Prize Band, Trinity Girls and Old Hall 'B', with his style and charisma bringing competition and concert success.
His music has always drawn upon and combined influences, traditions, and cultures and has composed for film, TV and theatre productions including Christopher Luscombe’s adaptation of ‘Star Quality’ by Noel Coward and the original musical ‘Dorothy’s Friends’ a critical and audience hit at the Edinburgh Festival 2002. He has scored incidental music for ‘Spring Awakening’ at the Courtyard Theatre in London and productions of ‘The Shadowmaster’ and 'Grand Slam' at the Kings Head Theatre in London.
Greg's solo for Brass Band 'The Agitator' has been played worldwide, published by Kirklees Music, and recently recorded on the "Them Basses" CD by Leyland Band performed by Bill Carter.
